How to Import Email Templates from Active Campaign

Importing email templates from Active Campaign is a valuable feature that allows you to integrate and leverage existing email designs for your campaigns. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can seamlessly import and customize templates for use in your account. 


Exporting Templates from Active Campaign


Access your Active Campaign account to begin the export process.


Navigate to Campaign Templates


Click on "Campaigns" > "Campaign Templates" in the left menu. The Manage Templates page will appear, listing your custom templates.


Share and Copy the Template


Hover over the desired template and click the gear icon. Select the "Share" option to continue. 

In the "Share this template" modal, click the link icon to copy the shareable link.


Importing Active Campaign Email Templates


To import the shared email template into your system, follow these steps:


Access Email Templates


Go to Marketing > Emails > Email Templates in your CRM account. This is where you can create, manage, and import email templates for use in your campaigns.

Click on "+ New" and select the "Import Email" option.

Add Template Details


In the import window, locate the "Import From" dropdown menu and choose Active Campaign as the source.

Paste the URL you previously copied from the ActiveCampaign template or campaign into the designated URL field.

After pasting the URL, use the preview feature to ensure that the imported template is formatted correctly and meets your expectations.


Finalize the Import


Once satisfied with the preview, click the "Create Template" button to complete the process. The template will now be available in your system, ready for customization or immediate use in your email campaigns.

By importing email templates from Active Campaign, you can save time and utilize professional designs that align with your branding. This feature ensures consistency across campaigns while enabling quick customization.


✍️Important Notes


  • Templates imported from Active Campaign will appear in the Code Editor (HTML) email type.
  • You can also save entire campaigns from Active Campaign as templates by selecting "Save as Template" in the campaign dropdown menu before sharing.
