Math Operation Action

The Math Operation action makes the system seamlessly handle any calculations needed by adding them to a workflow where they can be used to maintain score metrics or total fields. For example, this function can be used to give scores to leads based on their responses and activities in a marketing campaign.

Setting it Up

Select the field you want to apply the Math Operation on, this can be any numeric field in the system including dates and custom values.

Select the operation you want to apply, in this case, the operations refer to the math function to apply i.e. subtraction, addition, etc.

Add the value to perform the operation, the tag icon will allow you to choose the custom values you have created inside of your system for this field.

Select the desired field to update with the math operation from the Update Field dropdown menu.

Once you've selected a field, click on Save action to keep the changes.

There are a few minor differences between using Date or Numeric fields, so let's give them a check!


Date Fields

For date fields, the operations will be limited to Adding or Subtracting, once the operator is selected enter the total days, months, and/or years.

Number Fields

For Numerics fields you can Add, Subtract, Multiply, or Divide as well as add multiple operations for the system to run.

If you've added an Operator you'd like to remove click the trash can icon next to it.

And there you go! This action will help you perform any needed calculations related to a contact inside the system, allowing you to easily qualify, actualize and evaluate customers and opportunities as they interact with your business.
