Messaging Policies For Canadian 10DLC Numbers

For Canadian 10-digit long code (10DLC) numbers, there are a few things you need to keep in mind when messaging. Let's take a look at what and how to do it


Messaging Within Canada


If your phone number was purchased before 26th March 2025, you're not required to undergo Application-to-Person (A2P) registration for messaging fellow Canadians. If purchased after that point, A2P registration is mandatory to send messages to Canadian recipients.


Messaging to the United States    


To reach U.S. recipients, your 10DLC number must be A2P registered, this requirement applies to all Canadian numbers.
